The HOKA Mafate Speed 4 is an overhaul redesign of previous models. It keeps the same character and aim but updates the midsole/ outsole combination, foam and upper design. Famously known for contributing to Jim Walmsleys winning run at Western States the Mafate model offers an alternative to other high-cushioned and lightweight trail options such as the Speedgoat.
The Mafates responsive cushioning makes it a pinnacle product for technical trail, distilling elements of the EVO Mafate and previous Mafate speeds. It features a breathable, single layer jacquard mesh upper and a PROFLY midsole (the MOST responsive Hoka foam underfoot yet). The outsole is Vibram Megagrip, with Litebase construction and 5mm lugs, the shoe has a toe cap for protection and durability and the heel collar includes a bolstered construction for comfort and fit.
