Job Title: Merchandise Planner
Location: Pace Athletic Castle Hill (Hybrid office/home setup)
Job Summary:
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for planning, managing, and optimising the inventory and merchandise strategy to maximise sales, margin, and inventory turnover. This role involves analysing sales data, forecasting demand, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the right products are available at the right time and place. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of retail trends and consumer behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Develop and execute merchandise plans to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor stock levels and make recommendations for reorders, markdowns, and promotions.
- Collaborate with ecommerce, marketing, and stores to ensure timely and efficient product flow.
- Sales Analysis:
- Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Prepare and present sales and inventory reports to management.
- Conduct post-season analysis to evaluate performance and improve future planning.
- Forecasting:
- Create and maintain sales and inventory forecasts.
- Adjust forecasts based on market trends, sales performance, and promotional activity.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of merchandise.
- Merchandise Strategy:
- Develop and implement merchandise strategies that align with company goals and market demands.
- Partner with the marketing team to create cohesive and effective merchandising plans.
- Participate in product selection and assortment planning to meet customer needs and preferences.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or related roles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of retail trends and consumer behaviour.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the retail and or footwear industry
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and software
