"Incredible shoe, great grip super comfortable, lots of bounce."
"I really wanted to give the Trail Devil 2 a 5-star rating as I really like the unique look and feel of the shoe and to support an environmentally conscious Aussie business but there are a couple of key areas that need improvement. It has been very wet here in Sydney lately and I have thoroughly tested the TD2 in wet and slippery conditions. The "Claw" outsole performs well on most rocky technical trails wet or dry but not on wet slick rock, mud, pavement, or road where it tends to slip slightly on ground contact which feels inefficient and can get annoying if you are wanting to pick up the pace. The TD2 is true to size although a bit snug at the forefoot in terms of length, but the width is fantastic for my wide forefoot allowing the toes to splay. The fit is very secure with an excellent and comfortable heel lockdown. The upper is quite thick and warm meaning it is a great winter shoe, but it is too warm for my personal liking and not breathable enough for Sydney summer runs. The highlight of the TD2 is the midsole which sits in the sweet spot not too firm not too soft, is responsive, and returns energy very well. The TD2 is fast and agile on technical downhills and very solid on the uphill – especially after a little bit of break in. There is plenty of rock protection and comfort from the midsole, which also offers great ground connection and is very stable."
"Really fun ride. Going to be an absolute banger for Buffalo Stampede!"
"I currently have 3 varieties of Hokas as well as Brooks and Topo trail shoes and every one of them give me issues with my feet. I was despairing about my upcoming 100km event as I knew my feet could spell disaster. Until the Tarkine’s were recommended. I have a wide foot and wear orthotics. There is no slop up and down at the heel and I don’t even need to lace lock - even if I did, the laces are plenty long enough to do so. The lack of the strip around the toe area has alleviated the end of second toe blister and they’re just so damned comfortable. Like slippers for your feet. They have cushioning but ground feel too and are not stiff underfoot. The only downside is that the grip is a bit lacking on wet sandy trails and wet rocks. But I’ll overlook that for the comfort. Wish I could get hold of a road shoe!"
"Fantastic shoes. Buying experience was super easy and lightening fast."
"Great shoe. Really enjoying the wide toe box and light fit and feel of the shoes. Nice balance under foot. First time user but I'm already a fan."
