The dual-density midsole construction of PEBA top layer and EVA mid-layer, a forked carbon fiber plate and meta-rocker geometry, offers a smooth combination of subtle energy, unique stability, and a comfortable roll during each stride. Despite the 49mm stack of cushioning, the shoe remains highly stable as it wraps your foot in the soft PEBA foam, with the carbon plate adding structure and stiffness.
With its max-cushion build, this Mafate X is great for ultra distances and runners who wants the max underfoot protection, but still looking for reliable performance on terrain. If you are a fan of the HOKA Bondi, Stinson or similar models, you will love this one!

"Sometimes you go through heaps of shoes, heaps of brands just to find one shoe that is one that your can use straight out of the box and get into the trails with the confidence that today is going to be my happy day. I had previously bought the Hoka Mafate 5 and it was just another trail shoe. It grew on me and was one that I tried to use for "special days". When Pace offered the Mafate X on sale I knew what I was buying. . . I thought. The X is next level, being 70 years old I feel that these shoes are the closest to running bliss ever. Grippy, feet cupping, ventilated, true to size with room to move up front and the big bonus that Carbon Plate, My feet keep pushing up and forward and makes me smile. Next stop, I'm ordering another pair. And thankyou for delivering to me at Talbingo I live in the Kosci NP."
