How to choose the best neutral running shoes for women
Your everyday running shoes should feel comfortable and effortless - no matter the distance or pace. Here are some tips to help you find the right neutral running shoe for your feet.
1. Pick your priority
It all comes down to what you like to feel underfoot; there’s no right or wrong here. If comfort is your main focus, choose shoes with extra soft cushioning that absorb impact and make you feel secure on daily runs or back-to-back sessions.
Or, for runners who prefer something more responsive and springy, lightweight models with energy-returning midsoles add a quick, propulsive feel, ideal for tempo runs or faster workouts.
2. Match your width
From narrow to standard to wide fits, our neutral running shoes for women are made to match every foot shape, keeping you comfortable and supported with every step. You can refer to the sizing guides on each product to get the exact match for your foot shape.
3. Dial your drop
How and where your foot lands when you run is just as important as picking the right shoe. Our collection of neutral trainers cater to heal, midfoot and toe first impact.
Look for the heel-to-toe drop measurement:
-
Lower drop, 0mm - 6mm: For forefoot or midfoot strikes.
-
Higher drop, 6mm+: For heel strikers to move through a full stride and push off from the toes.
4. Choose your stack
If you like to feel closer to the ground, a lower stack neutral trainer is a good choice. For a softer ride, higher stack designs offer extra cushioning for long distances, to keep you comfortable on longer runs and help reduce fatigue.
With our range of women’s neutral running shoes, it’s easy to find a pair that feels right for you and your running.
FAQs: Womens' Neutral Daily Trainers
What are neutral running shoes?
Neutral running shoes are trainers designed for runners with a neutral gait, meaning that their feet don’t roll excessively inward or outward when they land during a running stride.
How do I know if I have a neutral gait?
Take a look at the wear pattern on a current pair of shoes. If it’s even across the heel and forefoot, there’s a good chance your gait is neutral.
For a more accurate check, visit your local Pace Athletic store and our staff will help you find the right fit for your gait.
