Gold Coast Weekend: Running, Recovery & Ragu
The Pace Truck hit the road for its first official trip, and what better way to kick things off than a weekend on the Gold Coast. With shakeout runs, shoe launches, and sunny race day energy, it was a truely a celebration of all things running.
Friday Shakeout: Running on Ragu with Gemelli Italian

We kicked things off with our Running on Ragu shakeout run, a collaboration between Pace Athletic and Gemelli Italian, with support from ASICS, Pillar Performance, and Dermalogica. Held at Thorn Park in Miami, this 5km social run was all about camaraderie, carb-loading and bringing our communities together. Runners were treated to delicious pizza from Gemelli, while the on debut Pace Truck was stocked with ASICS wear-test shoes including the Superblast 2, Metaspeed Edge and Sky, and Novablast 5 for runners to test out on the loop. Pillar Performance provided their triple magnesium to ensure everyone was recovered and race ready, and Dermalogica added a self care touch with samples and skincare goodies. The free Running on Ragu t-shirts were a hit and added to the fun. It was such a great way to bring a bit of the Pace community vibe to the Gold Coast and connect with everyone before the big weekend.
A first look at the ASICS GEL-KAYANO™ 32
The ASICS GEL-KAYANO 32 made its big debut during marathon weekend. Known for its premium stability and plush comfort, this latest model features the 4D GUIDANCE SYSTEM and FF BLAST PLUS cushioning, offering runners a smoother and more adaptive experience. The updated engineered mesh upper and PureGEL tech deliver great shock absorption and a personalised fit, making it a standout for both over-pronators and neutral runners. We were lucky to be part of the ASICS shakeout run and got to try the new Kayano 32 ahead of its official launch. Check out our in-depth breakdown of the Kayano 32 here.

Saturday & Sunday: Race Day Revelry
The Gold Coast Marathon weekend had something for everyone, with races for all levels. We were out on course cheering on runners in the Half Marathon, 5k, 10k, Junior Dashes, and the wheelchair races, including the 5k, 10k, and marathon. It was amazing to support such an inspiring and diverse group of athletes. Sunday was all about the big ASICS Gold Coast Marathon. The course is super flat and scenic, running right along the beaches and Broadwater, making it a great spot to soak up the vibes and chase a new personal best.

Beyond Running and Racing
After a marathon weekend (in more ways than one), we wrapped things up with a recovery party at The Oxley Carpark in Nobby’s—the perfect way to finish off the weekend with a great crew. There were giveaways from ASICS, heat-press fun, Dermalogica goodies, more pizza from Gemelli, and even a Pillar x Gemelli protein gelato. Just good food, good company, and good vibes all around.

From the carb-loaded shakeout to the recovery scoops and everything in between, the Gold Coast Marathon weekend was all about running, community, and good vibes. Big love to everyone who showed up and made it special. Here’s to more runs, more memories, and hopefully seeing you on the Goldie next year! 🏖️👟
