Men’s Running Shoes - Frequently Asked Questions
Which men’s running shoes should I get?
Start by matching the type of terrain you want to run on to your running goal If you need help deciding, we have an amazing shoe finder quiz that can help find the perfect pair. Or, you can chat to our team in-store by using our store locator to find your nearest Pace Athletic.
How should a men's running shoe fit?
A good running shoe should feel secure but never restrictive. Aim for about a thumb’s width of space at the front so your toes can move freely, a snug heel that doesn’t slip, and midfoot support that feels comfortable without creating pressure.
What’s the difference between men’s running shoes and women’s running shoes?
The main differences are the sizes available and the widths. The construction of the shoe and its features are the same across mens and womens.
How can I prolong the life of my running shoes?
Ideally, try rotating between more than two pairs so each has time to rest — this allows the cushioning to recover and prevents premature wear. After each run, let your shoes air out somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight or heaters. Avoid putting them in the washing machine as this can wear down the materials and change the shoe's structure. Instead, hand wash with mild soap and a soft brush to remove dirt.
