"Sometimes you go through heaps of shoes, heaps of brands just to find one shoe that is one that your can use straight out of the box and get into the trails with the confidence that today is going to be my happy day. I had previously bought the Hoka Mafate 5 and it was just another trail shoe. It grew on me and was one that I tried to use for "special days". When Pace offered the Mafate X on sale I knew what I was buying. . . I thought. The X is next level, being 70 years old I feel that these shoes are the closest to running bliss ever. Grippy, feet cupping, ventilated, true to size with room to move up front and the big bonus that Carbon Plate, My feet keep pushing up and forward and makes me smile.
