Craft + Community: Finding Precision in Coffee and Running
In the world of coffee, craft matters.
At Single O, every detail is considered. The dose is measured. The grind is adjusted. Extraction time is watched carefully. Small changes make a noticeable difference in the cup.
But anyone who spends time in that world knows technique is only part of it.
What makes it meaningful is the moment around it.
Mari, who works in marketing at Single O, sees that every day. She is surrounded by people who care deeply about the process. The adjustments. The refinement. The repetition. But she also sees the conversations across the counter and the small rituals that bring people back.
Coffee is precision. It is also connection.
Running, for her, holds the same balance.
Some runs are quiet and focused. Others are social and shared. Sometimes it is about chasing a time. Other times it is about finishing somewhere with friends. The effort is personal, but the experience is often communal.
That in between space is where she feels most at home.
Introducing the Salomon Aero Glide 4 GRVL
The Aero Glide 4 GRVL sits naturally inside that story.
It is built for the crossover. Road to gravel. Solo to social. Structured session to relaxed long run.
The energyFOAM midsole delivers a cushioned ride that feels smooth on pavement without feeling sluggish. Underfoot protection is generous, but it does not feel heavy. When the surface changes to gravel or packed dirt, the outsole holds steady without being overly aggressive.
It handles mixed terrain the way most runners actually move through it. A stretch of footpath. A cut through the park. A gravel path that breaks up the monotony.
It adapts without asking you to change your plan.

What does craft mean to you?
For me, craft is about the details in the process. From sourcing beans to roasting to serving coffee, each step must be thoughtfully intentional to create the perfect cup. Having worked in coffee for over 5 years now, I’ve really come to appreciate the craft that goes into every step of the process.
How does community fit in?
Community fits in because coffee is about the people. Most people don’t realize it but specialty coffee is still primarily handpicked and sorted at origin before we roast it and a barista brews it. So it literally touches hundreds of hands before ending up in your cup.
And of course, coffee is even better when shared. Grabbing a coffee is so simple and routine yet doing it with friends makes it all the better.
And running, does it work the same way?
Absolutely. I love running alone to get out of my own head but running with friends is definitely more fun and memorable, especially if you’ve got a long run or a particularly hard session.
Do you have a favorite way to combine the two worlds?
There’s no better way to start your day than to go for a run and coffee with friends. It gets your day started on the right foot (literally) and you get a little treat.
Bringing Craft and Community Together
There is something similar between tuning a grinder and refining your stride. Both take repetition. Both reward consistency. Both improve with attention.
But neither lives in isolation.
You can perfect the technique, but what makes it memorable is how it fits into your life.
The Aero Glide 4 GRVL supports that balance. The cushioning keeps longer runs comfortable. The grip gives confidence when the terrain shifts. The ride stays smooth whether you are running alone or mid conversation.
It does not push you toward one type of run. It moves with the one you choose.
If your training does not sit neatly in one category. If you move between surfaces and between moods. If you value both the craft of running and the community around it.
The Aero Glide 4 GRVL fits that rhythm.
