"My first pair of Hokas and a frustrating experience. I was seeking a modest amount of stability which is supposedly what these shoes provide. First couple of runs were uncomfortable around side of foot but that improved. There does seem to be some lateral stability despite the very soft feel. There seems however to be a complete lack of forward/back stability and the shoes tend to thrust you forward. It felt precarious on downhills in particular. Seems to be a shoe designed for running on flat roads, not sloping roads. After a few runs and one bad fall I moved onto a different brand."
