"Best non plated race shoe going. Not just a race shoe, this can handle easy paces, long runs, tempo work, anything. I'm a heavier runner (100kg) and the foam has held up so well in my first pair that I got a second. Normally I've killed off a shoe within 400km's, but this is lasting double that."
"I had such high hopes for this show, but unfortunately ASICS seemed to have missed the mark on this one. I don't have particularly fussy feet and wear the same size in multiple ASICS models, but these make my feet go numb almost instantly. I bought them (at great expense, I might never recover from) for an upcoming marathon, but the only way I can wear them is basically with them not done up at all. Regret not waiting for the superblast 3. Otherwise grip feels great and if my feet got along with them I'm sure they'd be great."

"Very happy with the shoe. It's a big unit - sky-high stack but width ensures stability. It's stiff with a late rocker that somewhat helps transition but you mainly rely on the bouce. The upper is crazy-thin for a trainer, there is some lace bite but unless you need to racing loops this is avoidable with careful lacing. No issues with lockdown or heel-slip. Eats up miles with ease and a joy to run in. After 120kms I prefer these for easy to tempo runs, both short and long but its bulk makes it less suited to speed work, particularly picking up cadence. With 250kms in the Evo SL I prefer it for faster efforts, the Megablast has the slight edge otherwise particularly for longer runs, and the Speed 5 trumps both for shorter runs and intervals. This would be 4 star but for the discount I received which brought it in line with its main alternative the EVO SL. The foams actually feel similar and all indications are the FFTurbo2 will have excellent longevity like Lightstrike Pro, a welcome relief after my experience with the Novablast 5. This shoe would be best with 5mm less stack reducing stiffness and making it more versatile, an upper similar to the Novablast 5 for more trainer-like comfort, and a price tag of $240 matching the Evo SL (essentially what the Novablast 6 should be). Great deal and service from Pace Athletic!"
"Fit - Due to previous reviews I decided to go half a size up from my usual US9. 5 which I have in the Metaspeed Edge Paris Tokyo to US10 and it worked out well. I had a thumbs width in length and ample toe box room. I enjoy the ride of this shoe. It is like a Superblast 2 but with more pep in the step. You get a nice bounce and energy return and the midsole foam retains its properties regardless of the length of the run. I found the outsole grip to be good and had no stability issues. For such a high stack shoe it is very light weight which adds to its versatility. However, like the Superblast 2 it is a big shoe so not exactly nimble but I knew that beforehand. I was lucky to get it on a sale price. Even so it is expensive. I think there are similar shoes that are just as good, if not better, that you can purchase for a fraction of the cost. In the photos, I've included the Dynafish Xiaonian (US10) for comparison. Slightly less stack, much lighter weight, similar midsole properties, more nimble and lighter on the wallet too. Don't get me wrong, the Megablast is an excellent shoe but too expensive at full price. Also have a photo comparison with the Superblast 2 in a US9. 5. I would only recommend purchasing if you can pick them up at a significant discount."
